Fun facts:
- In 1946, AT&T charged about $30 per month ($326 in 2009) for its mobile telephone service. In order to make a call, one would have to pick up an eighty-pound piece of equipment and hope that the glorified party line was available.
- In 1973, Motorola's Dr. Martin Cooper placed a call on a handheld mobile telephone. It was the size of a large trade paper novel.
- From 1991 to 2010, cell phone service contracts increased from 12 million to 4.6 billion, with the largest consumer of cellular service being China Mobile (500 million subscribers).
- South Korea, Japan and the United States have the most 4G coverage in the world.

There are a few places left in the world where you can not use your cell phone. Golden Beach State Campground is one of them. There is limited AT&T reception on the beach. Outside of that, calls will have to wait a few hours. :)
